The Redcliffe Peninsula juts into Moreton Bay about 35 km north of Brisbane. It takes in Scarborough, Redcliffe, Margate, Woody Point and Clontarf. Here are the best things to do on the peninsula, checked for 2026.

The Redcliffe Jetty and Redcliffe Parade
The first Redcliffe Jetty was finished in 1885; the current one opened in 1999, with heritage-style lighting and a railway-track pattern in the deck. It faces east, so it is a sunrise spot, and it is popular for fishing. Redcliffe Parade behind it has cafes, restaurants and the Sunday markets.

Sunday markets
The Redcliffe Markets run every Sunday on Redcliffe Parade beside the jetty, 8am to 2pm from March to November and 7am to 1pm from December to February, rain or shine.
Bee Gees Way
A free 70 m laneway at 109 Redcliffe Parade honouring Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb, who spent part of their childhood in Redcliffe. It has life-size statues, more than 60 photos, album covers, music and a light show after sunset.
Swimming
- Settlement Cove Lagoon: a free council lagoon on Redcliffe Parade, with lifeguards during opening hours and ramps into the water.
- Suttons Beach: the peninsula’s patrolled beach, with Redcliffe Peninsula Surf Life Saving Club volunteers on patrol in the warmer months.
Walking and cycling
The Moreton Bay Cycleway runs 11 km along the foreshore from Scarborough Beach to the Ted Smout Memorial Bridge, with no road crossings or traffic lights. It passes the jetty, Suttons Beach, Margate Beach and Woody Point.
Art and history
- Redcliffe Museum, 75 Anzac Avenue: free, Wednesday to Friday 10am to 4pm and weekends 10am to 3pm. Redcliffe was the site of Queensland’s first European settlement, in 1824.
- Redcliffe Art Gallery, 1 Irene Street: free, Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 4pm.
- Heritage Walk and Talk: a free 1.5-hour guided walk run by volunteers from the Redcliffe Visitor Information Centre, weekdays at 9:30am.
Whale watching
From June to November, Brisbane Whale Watching runs daily cruises on MV Eye Spy from the Redcliffe Jetty, boarding at 9am and back in the early afternoon. Book ahead with the operator.
Woody Point and Clontarf
Woody Point Jetty was first built in 1888 and is a popular fishing spot, with sunset views west over Bramble Bay. The Moreton Bay Food + Wine Festival is held on the Woody Point foreshore in August, and KiteFest fills Pelican Park at Clontarf each September.
Dogs
Queens Beach North in Scarborough is an off-leash dog beach, and Kroll Gardens Dog Park at Clontarf has an agility course and a fenced small-dog area. See our dog-friendly Redcliffe guide.
Getting here
Drive about 40 minutes from Brisbane CBD over the Bramble Bay bridges, or take the train to Kippa-Ring, then a Translink bus. Fares are a flat 50 cents.
