The Redcliffe Peninsula is one of the easiest coastal escapes to reach from Brisbane, close enough for a weekend, far enough to feel away from it all. Here’s how to get to Redcliffe and Scarborough.

From Brisbane, head north on the Gateway Motorway / Bruce Highway and follow the signs to Redcliffe via the Houghton Highway across Moreton Bay, the bridge crossing itself is a lovely arrival. Yes. Take the train to Kippa-Ring station (the end of the Redcliffe Peninsula line), then a short bus or rideshare to Scarborough. Getting around once you’re here

Most of the best of Redcliffe, the beaches, the jetty, the marina, the markets and the cafés, is within a few minutes of Scarborough, and the flat Moreton Bay Cycleway makes walking and cycling easy. A car is handy for day trips, but you won’t need it for much day to day.
