Moreton Bay has everything from bayside apartments to hinterland cabins and whole family homes. This short guide covers what to check before you book a holiday rental in the region. We run one home, Redcliffe Seaside Villa Escape in Scarborough, and we describe it at the end so you can see how it measures up.
How to choose a holiday rental in Moreton Bay
- Location: decide what you will do most. The Redcliffe Peninsula suits beach and bay days; Bribie Island suits surf and fishing; the hinterland around Dayboro and Mt Mee suits quiet and bushwalking.
- Beds, not just bedrooms: check the actual bed set-up and the maximum number of guests.
- Pets: if you travel with a dog, confirm the pet policy, any pet fee and whether the yard is fully fenced.
- Parking: look for off-street or garage parking if you are bringing a boat, bikes or two cars.
- House rules and cancellation: read quiet hours, party rules and the cancellation deadline before you pay.
- Recent reviews: read the latest reviews on the booking platforms, not just the headline score.
